Alter Albion is a wedding venue located in Brisbane, Queensland. We offer an alternative to registry office weddings. It’s perfect for elopements, micro, simple or legals only weddings, or those who want something special, but without the hassle and expense of a bells and whistles wedding.
Just like a registry office wedding, Alter Albion keeps things simple and stress-free.
We provide the venue, the Celebrant, the ceremony, the paperwork, the decor, all within our gorgeous space as part of Craft’d Grounds, Albion. We take away all the elements of organising a wedding ceremony by keeping it simple, easy, but special.
Our weddings have a whole lot of heart
Unlike a registry office wedding, our venue has something that little bit special. It’s tucked away in a gorgeous converted mill. It has natural wooden floors and cathedral ceilings. It’s filled with lush greenery, plus has access to bars and restaurants within our home at Craft’d Grounds.
Whether you want to call it an elopement, a micro-wedding, a registry office style wedding, or something else, we’ve made getting married so easy.

Registry Style Weddings With Heart
Alter Albion is Brisbane’s best intimate wedding venue, and like a Registry Office wedding we keep things simple.
We provide the Celebrant, seating, signing table, a system for music, all within our charming and chic space.
Alter Albion is open for Registry Office style weddings on Wednesdays and Thursdays. You can book the space for weddings or events on other days via our partner venue, Herve’s.
Ceremonies are on the hour, and are 15 to 20 minutes and have capacity for up to 50 guests. Perfect for elopements, micro-weddings, or a special day which doesn’t take over your life.

How much does it cost to marry at Alter Albion?
A wedding ceremony at Alter Albion is only $995. This cost includes all of what is listed above.
Can I decorate Alter Albion?
On Wednesdays and Thursdays, we keep costs affordable at Alter Albion by running one ceremony on the hour, every hour. Due to the restraints on time, there is no capacity for extra decor to set-up/set-down on these days.
However, the room is already beautiful, with plants, candles, and decor with touches of gold, pink, green, white and black.
You are, of course, free to bring anything with you which can be set up in the room by yourself. This could be a photo of a loved one, or a vase of flowers. However you can only access the room five minutes prior to your ceremony, and five minutes post-ceremony. Therefore, any extra decor needs to be free-standing, and not requiring set up.
On other days of the week, there is more flexibility to decorate Alter Albion by booking the room by our partners, Herve’s. Please contact Hervé’s for more details.
Can I bring my own Celebrant?
Absolutely! However, the cost for Alter Albion remains $995 whether you use one of our Celebrants or not.
Who are your Celebrants?
Our Celebrants have all been especially chosen by Alter Albion for their warmth and care. In fact, they have all been trained to deliver the ceremony with the special ‘Alter Albion’ touch.
Our Celebrants are members of The Celebrant Society, and furthermore have t least two years experience.
Our Celebrants are all progressive, inclusive, kind and deliver a warm, meaningful ceremony with a little bit of humour.
What days can I marry at Alter Albion?
We are open for Registry Style Weddings on Wednesdays and Thursdays.
These wedding ceremonies take place on the hour, every hour, from 9am to 5pm.
On any other day of the week, Hervé’s manages the space, and you can check with them directly regarding availability.
What's the capacity of Alter Albion?
Our venue fits 50 guests comfortably, with seating for 20, and standing room for 30.
Can I bring an arbour or floral arrangement?
On Wednesdays and Thursdays, guests, suppliers, and couple can only access Alter Albion five minutes prior to ceremony. They are required to exit out of the ceremony room five minutes after ceremony has finished. Therefore, this does not allow time for set-up/set down for large arrangements. However, if you wish to bring a modest arrangement with you on these days, you are welcome to do so.
On other days of the week, there is more flexibility. The venue is managed by Herve’s on these days, so please contact Hervé’s for more details.
Can we throw confetti?
Please, no confetti within Alter Albion’s space. However, if you would like a photo with confetti, there is a park nearby where you can throw bio-degradable confetti.
Can you provide catering or drinks?
Alter Albion is a ceremony only space, but one of the things which makes us really unique is our location. We’re co-located within Craft’d Grounds, with restaurant, bars, eateries and spaces to continue celebrating.
After your ceremony, wander into Hervé’s, who have packages specifically for Alter Albion couples, including La Petite Package. They also have private dining options through to space and catering for a full reception.
Are you able to marry us on a public holiday?
Yes, we are open for ceremonies every day throughout the year, excluding any which fall on Christmas Day or New Years Day.
Ceremonies held on public holidays incur a 15% surcharge.
Can I hire Alter Albion for a meeting, memorial, workshop, party etc?
On Wednesdays and Thursdays, Alter Albion is exclusively booked for couples wishing to have a Registry Office style ceremony.
For other use, please chat to our sister venue Hervé’s who manage the room on other days, and may be able to accommodate.
Can I bring my dog?
We are a dog-friendly, dog-loving wedding venue, and you are welcome to bring your pet (but only if we can have a cuddle with them first).

You’ll need to make an appointment to lodge your Notice of Intended Marriage with us. Once this is done, we can discuss available dates and times.
